Japan's Finance Minister, Shunichi Suzuki, expressed deep concern over the potential impact of former U.S. President Donald Trump's proposed tariffs, particularly a 10% tariff on all imports if he were to win the upcoming election. Speaking at a Group of Seven (G7) finance ministers and central bank governors meeting in Stresa, Italy, Suzuki highlighted the negative effects such tariffs could have on the global economy, emphasizing the need for free and fair trade. He also mentioned ongoing discussions with the U.S. and other countries to address these concerns, underscoring the importance of maintaining stable economic relations amidst rising protectionist sentiments.
