HSBC has appointed Richard Blackburn as group chief risk and compliance officer, the bank said on Thursday, confirming him in a role he has held on an interim basis since January.

HSBC has appointed Richard Blackburn as its chief risk and compliance officer, effective from April 10, 2025. Blackburn, who has been with the bank for over 25 years, previously served as the head of operational and resilience risk. He will succeed Greg Guyett, who is stepping down to pursue other opportunities. In his new role, Blackburn will be responsible for overseeing the bank's risk management and compliance functions globally, ensuring that HSBC adheres to regulatory requirements and manages risks effectively.
