NCDOJ sued Canary General Contracting and Design, LLC and its operators, alleging that they deceived and defrauded North Carolina consumers by taking money for construction projects that they failed to complete, and permanently barred them from conducting business in the state, requiring them to pay $60,000 in restitution.

The North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors has permanently banned two contractors, Jose Alejandro Yepes and Carlos Vanegas, from obtaining any future licenses due to their deceptive practices. The contractors, operating under Yepes Home Improvement LLC and Vanegas Home Improvement LLC, were found to have engaged in misleading advertising and unfair business practices, including taking large down payments and failing to complete work or deliver materials. This decision follows a unanimous vote by the board, aiming to protect consumers from similar fraudulent activities in the future.
