The Attorney General of The Bahamas, Ryan Pinder, announced that the National Risk Assessment (NRA) for the country's Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) regime has been completed. This assessment, which took over two years to finalize, involved collaboration with various government agencies and the private sector. The NRA aims to identify, assess, and understand the money laundering and terrorist financing risks faced by The Bahamas. Following its completion, the report will undergo consultations with stakeholders before being submitted to the Cabinet for approval. Attorney General Pinder emphasized the importance of this assessment in enhancing the effectiveness of the AML/CFT framework, ensuring compliance with international standards, and protecting the financial system from illicit activities.
