Financial institutions are beginning to implement more stringent due diligence processes. This includes evaluating the level of local community sentiment and the likelihood of zoning challenges before approving large-scale loans. The tightening of credit reflects a maturation of the AI build-out phase. The era of "build at any cost" is transitioning into an era of "strategic siting." This shift is likely to push development away from traditional hubs—where the grid is already saturated and residents are fatigued—toward regions that can offer both the necessary infrastructure and a more welcoming political climate.
