Ratings provider S&P Global said on Tuesday it plans to separate its mobility division, which sells data to vehicle manufacturers and automotive suppliers, into a separate public company in an attempt to streamline operations.

S&P Global Inc. has announced plans to separate its Mobility division into a standalone business to streamline operations and enhance focus on its core sectors. The Mobility division, which provides data and insights to the automotive industry, will operate independently but remain under the S&P Global umbrella. This strategic move is intended to allow both the parent company and the Mobility division to pursue growth opportunities more effectively. The separation is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, and it will not affect S&P Global's financial guidance for 2023.
