  • Unilever said on Thursday it would demerge its ice cream business and list it in Amsterdam, London and New York, as part of its chief executive's plans to trim costs and simplify the group after years of underperformance.

Unilever announced on February 13, 2025, that it will list its ice cream business, which includes popular brands like Ben & Jerry's, Magnum, and Wall's, on the stock exchanges in Amsterdam, London, and New York. This move is part of a broader strategy to separate its ice cream division from its other operations, aiming to enhance focus and potentially increase shareholder value. The listing is expected to occur later in 2025, following the completion of the spin-off process which was initially announced in March 2024. The ice cream business, which generated 7.9 billion euros in revenue in 2023, will operate as an independent entity, allowing for more targeted investment and growth strategies tailored to the unique dynamics of the ice cream market.
