LIC plans to enroll 100,000 Bima Sakhi within the next 12 months and 200,000 over a span of three years as part of its women empowerment drive.

The LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana is an initiative by the Life Insurance Corporation of India aimed at empowering women by providing them with employment opportunities as insurance agents. Under this scheme, women can apply to become Bima Sakhis, earning a minimum salary of Rs 7,000 per month. The program not only offers financial independence but also includes comprehensive training in insurance products, sales techniques, and customer service. Eligible women must be between 18 to 60 years old, have completed at least Class 10, and possess basic computer skills. The application process involves filling out an online form, attending an interview, and undergoing training. This initiative not only helps in promoting insurance awareness but also supports women in rural and semi-urban areas by providing them with a sustainable source of income.
