Jacksonville roofing operators pleaded guilty to mail and wire fraud, DOJ says
- They each face up to 20 years imprisonment for the mail and wire fraud offense and have been ordered to pay millions in restitution.
Two men associated with Jacksonville roofing companies, Christopher and Daniel Quick, have pleaded guilty to charges of mail and wire fraud. They were involved in a scheme where they defrauded insurance companies by submitting false claims for roof repairs, often claiming damages from non-existent storms or misrepresenting the extent of damage. The fraudulent activities took place between 2015 and 2019, involving multiple companies they operated. Their guilty pleas were entered in federal court, and they now face potential penalties including up to 20 years in prison for each count of mail fraud and up to 30 years for each count of wire fraud. The case highlights issues of insurance fraud in the roofing industry, where companies might exploit natural disasters or fabricate claims to secure unwarranted insurance payouts.
