UTC Aerospace Systems WINSLOW Life Raft Now Certified for Commercial Aircraft -- CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX); was recently granted FAA commercial certification (TSO C70a) for its WINSLOW "FACOM" life raft.  WINSLOW is the number one customer-rated life raft for quality and service for their commercial aircraft.

The new FACOM Commercial Type One life raft features as standard equipment a reversible design, lightweight canopy that is easy to erect, water activated exterior survivor locator lights, four rung boarding ladders at the front and rear boarding raft entries, an advanced ballast system and water collection system.  Survival kits are also available and stocked with various items such as flashlights, flares, first aid kits, mirrors and whistles.
