Cardinal Bank Community Fund Awards Grant to Readers Are Leaders

TYSONS CORNER, Va.--([ ])--Cardinal Bank (NASDAQ: CFNL) announced today that the Cardinal Bank Community Fund has awarded $5,000 to Readers Are Leaders, a local organization that provides reading and mentoring programs to elementary students. Founded almost a decade ago under the guidance of Wendell Byrd, former head coach for the boys basketball program at South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia, the program supports and encourages high school student athletes to become role models and mentors in their communities. Hundreds of elementary and high school students have been impacted through these programs, planting seeds for life-long commitments to service and responsibility.

Cardinal Bank Regional President F. Kevin Reynolds and Senior Vice President Cheryl Beebe presented the check to Wendell Byrd, Founder of Readers Are Leaders, at Sugarland Elementary School in Sterling, Virginia. Also attending the presentation were Sugarland students, along with Janice Jennings, Assistant Principal; Eileen Rafferty-For, School Counselor; and Kim Grim, Library Media Specialist.
