CHICAGO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--CNA Financial Corporation (NYSE: CNA) today announced the appointment of Cheryl Paton as the assistant vice president for Umbrella. She joins CNAas New York office, and will be leading the Umbrella teams for both the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Zones.

Paton brings more than 34 years of industry experience to this role. She comes to CNA from Navigators Management Company, where she served as vice president, Excess Casualty, for its New York territory. Paton led a team of underwriters and implemented a strategy and underwriting tools that grew the umbrella and excess book of business from the ground up. Prior to this role, she held positions of increasing responsibility with Chartis and garnered extensive experience in the umbrella business.
