MORRISTOWN, N.J., July 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) continues to monitor weather conditions and mobilize employees and resources in preparation for the possibility of severe summer storms predicted for New Jersey later today.

The company is on high alert and line and substation workers, storm analysts, hazard responders, dispatchers, forestry crews and support personnel are prepared to respond should power outages occur.

For storm restoration process information and tips for staying safe, go to [ www.firstenergycorp.com ].  Customers may also report outages and view timely, accurate and easy-to-use outage information through JCP&L's "24/7 Power Center" maps, accessible on desktops, smart phones and mobile devices at [ www.jcp-l.com ].  JCP&L will also provide updates via Twitter @JCP_L and on Facebook at [ www.facebook.com/JCPandL ].  Outages may also be reported by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877).
