AKRON, Ohio, July 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: [ FE ]) will release second quarter 2012 earnings before markets open on August 7, followed by a 1 p.m. EDT teleconference to discuss these results with financial analysts. 

During the call, FirstEnergy management will present an overview of the company's financial results for the quarter, and a question-and-answer session will follow.
