Ventas recently stated it had entered into a lease agreement with Kindred Healthcare for ten long-term acute care hospitals owned by Ventas. In its most recent quarter, Ventas saw funds from operations jump to $214.8 million from $101 million a year ago.
HCP also had a stellar quarter, as funds from operations came in at $264.8 million as compared to $149.7 million last year.
While the industry has been performing well, concerns over proposed reductions in government reimbursement rates are a major concern moving forward.
