ITASCA, Ill., Jan. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: [ AJG ]) today announced the acquisition of Riley & Associates, Inc. in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. 

First established in 1936, Riley & Associates, Inc. is a retail insurance broker providing property/casualty insurance and risk management services to their commercial and personal lines clients primarily in the southeastern United States.  They specialize in insurance coverage for the hospitality, moving and storage, transportation and marine industries.   Russell Parker and his associates will continue to operate in Mt. Pleasant under the direction of Mitchel Brashier, Southeastern Regional Manager of Gallagher's retail property/casualty brokerage operation.
