The company will focus on areas where it has established strengths and competitive differentiation - specifically commodities, financial services, consumer and global policy research.

Concurrently, MF Global plans to enhance its Equities presence in areas that offer opportunity, including building its commodities and global policy research capabilities and the sales, trading and client facilitation activities to support these sectors throughout Asia and Europe.
