VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 5, 2011) - BonTerra Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BTR)(FRANKFURT:9BR) (the "Company", "BonTerra") has received assays for the next 7 holes of the 2011 drill program on its 100% owned Eastern Extension Gold Project ("the Property"). The Property is located 170km northeast of Val d'Or, Quebec in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt.

  • All of these holes intercepted mineralized, altered gold bearing veins.
  • The first deep hole was completed on the property, BA-10-09. The depth of the known gold mineralization was encountered as deep as 330 vertical metres (365 metres down hole). Deep holes are very useful in creating tonnage for future resource calculations.
  • BonTerra has clearly defined a strike length of 315 metres. The Company's aim is to increase the strike length to 650 metres before commencing infill drilling.
  • BA-11-07 assayed 7.20 metres of 5.92 g/t gold (0.17 Oz/t) including 1.50 metres of 21.70 g/t (0.63 Oz/t).
  • BA-11-11 assayed 8.00 metres of 4.85 g/t gold (0.14 Oz/t) including 2.00 metres grading 10.96 g/t (0.32 Oz/t).
  • There are an additional five (5) holes with assays pending at this time. This includes two (2) ice holes.
  • Significant gold intercepts are outlined in table 1 below.

Thomas Clarke, Director, states, "BonTerra is excited to encounter gold at depths on the property. The company has recently completed several holes in the east, an area with little previous work. These holes have all hit gold so far. BonTerra is so confident in the property that we brought in 800 barrels of fuel and additional core racks that can accommodate 10,000 metres of additional drilling."

Qualified Person

This press release has been reviewed by Thomas Clarke, Pr.Sci.Nat., a Director of BonTerra. Mr. Clarke is a Qualified Person under NI 43-101.

The drill program and sampling is being supervised on behalf of the Company by Geologica Inc. of Val d'Or, Quebec. These are sample results, taken from mineralized zones of the drill hole. Depths and lengths are core lengths and not true widths. Samples were submitted to ALS Chemex of Val d'Or, Quebec for crushing, pulverizing and fire-assay for gold. Samples fire-assaying greater than 10 grams per tonne gold are then fire-assayed with a gravimetric finish. Assay samples are taken from drill core, sawed in half along the core axis; one half is sent to ALS Chemex Laboratories and the other half retained for future reference. The Company applies a full quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) system for every batch of samples submitted to the lab. The QAQC samples include a standard, duplicate and blank.
