Tim Slaughter Joins Cowen Group as Head of Fixed Income Distribution

NEW YORK--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Cowen Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: COWN) announced today that Tim Slaughter has joined the firm as a Managing Director and the Head of Fixed Income Distribution. Mr. Slaughter will be primarily responsible for expanding the firm's fixed income distribution capabilities as Cowen builds on its recently launched fixed income and credit origination platform. He will be based in New York and report to John Oa™Donoghue, Head of Equities, and Tom Oa™Mara, Head of Equity Derivatives and Convertibles.

Mr. Slaughter joins Cowen with over 15 years of fixed income experience, most recently with Princeridge Securities where he was a Managing Director and responsible for trading high yield and investment grade financial institution fixed income securities and assisted in the build out of a middle market and institutional fixed income trading operation. Prior to Princeridge, Mr. Slaughter held senior fixed income sales and trading positions at Maxim Group, UBS and JP Morgan.
