Lazard Hires Youngbum Kwon to Lead Korean Investment Banking Business

SEOUL, South Korea--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Lazard Ltd (NYSE:LAZ) announced that it has hired Youngbum Kwon as a Managing Director and Head of Korean Investment Banking, effective immediately. Based in Seoul, Mr. Kwon joined Lazard from Deutsche Bank, where he was a Managing Director and Head of M&A for Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in early 2009, Mr. Kwon spent five years as a Managing Director at UBS based in Hong Kong, leading efforts to build its Asian M&A business. Between 1999 and 2003, Mr. Kwon worked for Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, focusing on Korea. He began his investment-banking career at Bankers Trust in 1995.

Mr. Kwon holds a Master of Science in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Yonsei University, Seoul.
