Thu, June 17, 2010 Maya Gold & Silver Inc.: Maya Gold & Silver Updates Diamond Drilling and Surface Works Activity on TRNA Zone
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 17, 2010) - Maya Gold & Silver Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MYA) ("Maya" or the "Company") is pleased to provide the following update on its diamond drilling activities and surface works recently completed on TRNA Zone.
Previous works on TRNA can be summarized as follow:
- 17 channels samples were collected over a length of 34 metres and returned an average grade of 26.16 g/t Au on an average width of 0.98m (refer to press release of August 18, 2009)
- First diamond drill hole SCRT1 implemented on TRNA returned 25.16 g/t Au over 1.5 m (oxides & sulfides) including 45.92 g/t Au /0.8 m (sulfides only) (refer to press release of November 24, 2009)
Subsequently, 6 holes totalling 821 metres were performed on TRNA and intersections of interests are as follows:

During the last two months the TR zone, possibly the TRNA extension, approximately situated at 250m to the south has been stripped and channel sampled, 80 channels samples were collected over a length of 80m and returned grade up to 22.8 g/t Au over a width of 0.3 to 3.3m.
A second zone was also uncovered 5m east of the TR. From this zone, 72 channels samples were collected over a length of 60m and returned grade up to 13.3 g/t Au over a width of 0.3 to 1.3m.
Since diamond drilling and surface works have shown continuity both in width and in grade, the company plans to proceed with metallurgical testing on the TRNA structure.
Samples were prepared and assayed at Laboratoire Reminex (ISO 9000) at Guemassa, Morocco. All the above analysis reported was obtained by standard fire assaying-AA and gravimetric finish. Systematic assaying of standards and blanks was performed for precision and accuracy.
