Maya Gold & Silver Inc.: Maya Gold & Silver Holds Annual Shareholders Meeting and Appoints Noureddine Mokaddem as Vice Presiden
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 17, 2010) -Maya Gold and Silver (TSX VENTURE:MYA) ("Maya" or the "Company") held its Annual Shareholders' Meeting today at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, all matters placed before the shareholders were approved, including the election of all director nominees, namely MM John Booth, René Branchaud, Réjean Gosselin, Guy Goulet, Martin Wong and Roland Wismer. The Company also announced the appointment of Noureddine Mokaddem to the Company's Board of Directors.
Mr. Noureddine Mokaddem has held senior role within YNNA Holding, ONA Group and OCP Group and has been important in the development of several large projects and mining operations such as Akka Gold and Guemassa in Morocco. He is a Professional Industrial Engineer and holds a B.Sc. Engineering from State School of Engineers, Mons in Belgium.
Furthermore, the Company also appoints Mr. Mokaddem as Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer and President of its moroccan subsidiary, Compagnie Minière Maya Maroc, S.A.R.L. Mr. Mokaddem brings to the Company extensive experience in the mining industry within Africa. He will be responsible for the exploration and development of its Amizmiz gold-silver property in Morocco and for the evaluation of new business opportunities.
