EWS Receives $1.5 Million Installment Payment From Ellsin
AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 11, 2010) - Environmental Waste International (EWS) (TSX VENTURE:EWS) announced that a wholly owned subsidiary, EWI Rubber Inc (EWIR) has received an installment payment of $1,500,000 from Ellsin Environmental Ltd. (Ellsin). This is one of the scheduled payments in the $4.175 million contract to design and build a tire reduction (TR900) Prototype system in Sault Ste. Marie. The Prototype tire processing plant will showcase the EWS Reverse Polymerization™ Process. The TR900 plant is designed to breakdown 900 tires per day into carbon black, oil and steel. Off- gases from the process will be used as fuel to power the system.
EWS has recently awarded the main processing chamber fabrication contract to Abuma Manufacturing Ltd. of London, Ontario. EWS has also identified the equipment suppliers for most of the ancillary equipment. The TR900 project continues to make solid progress. EWS is hopeful that the system will be installed and operational by the end of 2010.
To date, Ellsin has paid EWIR $3,700,000. As part of a separate agreement between Ellsin and EWS, EWS recently loaned Ellsin $750,000 to be repaid by July 2011. This funding should allow Ellsin to meet its financial obligations in the Prototype Contract between EWIR and Ellsin.
EWS has also designed processors for the environmentally safe sterilization and disposal of medical, biological, liquid and food waste and for the recovery of usable byproducts from other organic sources. EWS continues to explore other applications for its technology. Please visit EWS's home page on the Internet at: [ www.ewmc.com ].
