Unfortunately, PBS did not attend the SPPM conference this past week due to some last minute changes. SPPM provides interventional pain management procedures hands on training using cadavers. SPPM had originally scheduled the conference at the Sheraton Overland Park, Kansas. However, it became apparent last minute that the Sheraton convention rooms would not accept cadavers, so the conference had to be moved to the local Hilton hotel. Hilton was not able to accommodate space for the entire conference. SPPM then discouraged attendees to show up. The change in location reduced the conference from 7 days to 2 days and the number of participants from 80 to 25. "PBS did not feel it was advantageous to attend this meeting under the circumstances," quoted by PPJ CEO Chandana Basu. However, PBS is registered to attend the 20th Annual meeting of American Academy of Pain Management (AAPM) from October 8 to 11 in Phoenix, Arizona. PBS was told by AAPM that expected attendance is well over 1400 physicians.
PPJ just signed off Wakabayashi prepared presentations on behalf of PPJ. Wakabayashi is geared up to start their work immediately.
