Reliance Group is the only company that has won incentives under the National Green Hydrogen Mission in both the tranches for green hydrogen production.

The Indian government has issued Letters of Award to eight companies, including Reliance Industries, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), and Waaree Energies, to establish green hydrogen production facilities under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) programme. This initiative aims to promote the production of green hydrogen, which is produced using renewable energy sources, thereby reducing carbon emissions. The selected companies will set up facilities with a total capacity of 450,000 tonnes per annum of green hydrogen. The move is part of India's broader strategy to become a global hub for green hydrogen, supporting the country's commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. The programme not only incentivizes the production of green hydrogen but also supports the development of associated infrastructure like electrolyzers and storage systems.
