Hero Future Energies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of the Indian state of Karnataka.
Hero Future Energies, a renewable energy company, has secured a contract to develop a 100 MW solar power project in Karnataka, India. This project, awarded through a competitive bidding process by the Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL), will be executed under a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model. The solar plant is expected to generate approximately 223 million units of clean energy annually, contributing to the reduction of around 2,21,252 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. The project aligns with India's broader goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and supports Karnataka's efforts to increase its renewable energy portfolio. Hero Future Energies aims to commence construction soon, with the plant expected to be operational within 18 months from the start date.
