Busy Baby, a company founded by Emily Wells that produces mats designed to keep babies occupied and safe, is facing financial difficulties due to a 25% tariff imposed on goods imported from China. To keep her business afloat, Wells has turned to crowdfunding, raising over $20,000 through a GoFundMe campaign. The tariff has significantly increased the cost of her products, which are manufactured in China due to the specialized nature of the mats. Despite the challenges, Wells remains committed to her business and is exploring options such as relocating production to the U.S. or Mexico, although these alternatives come with their own set of challenges and costs.
