Britain and Qatar have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in financial services, as announced during the UK-Qatar Financial Dialogue in Doha on December 4, 2024. This agreement seeks to foster collaboration in areas such as fintech, sustainable finance, and Islamic finance, while also promoting mutual investment opportunities. The MoU was signed by UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt and Qatari Finance Minister Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, signaling a commitment to deepen economic ties between the two nations. The dialogue also covered topics like regulatory frameworks, financial market development, and capacity building, aiming to leverage the strengths of both countries' financial sectors for mutual benefit.
