FirstEnergy Names Members of Educational Advisory Council (Ohio)

AKRON, Ohio, July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: [ FE ]) recently selected 14 Ohio educators to serve on the FirstEnergy Educational Advisory Council (FEAC).

The FEAC is composed of educators in communities served by FirstEnergy operating companies and other subsidiaries to guide and make recommendations on materials and resources provided by the company to help educational institutions effectively meet their curriculum and educational goals.  Each member will serve a term of two academic years beginning in September 2012.

"FirstEnergy strongly believes in supporting our community in many different ways including educational partnerships and collaboration to benefit schoolchildren," says Delores Jones, manager, Community Initiatives.  "The FEAC helps us determine how we can best support our educators in creating resources that will generate student interest in learning about electricity and its safe use."
