STOCKHOLM & LONDON--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Northern Trust (Nasdaq:NTRS) announced today that it has appointed Belinda Burgess as head of the Nordic region. Burgess, who is based in Stockholm, replaces Madeleine Senior who has been appointed as head of sales for Northern Trustas asset servicing business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

In her new role, Burgess is responsible for managing the growth and development of Northern Trustas business activities across Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. She reports to Penelope Biggs, head of the Institutional Investor Group for EMEA, and will work closely with John Krieg, managing director of Northern Trustas asset management business in EMEA.
Burgess joined Northern Trust in 2005 and was most recently a senior executive within Northern Trustas Global Fund Services business, where she was responsible for client service for global asset managers, insurance funds and in-house managed pension schemes. Burgess has more than 20 years of industry experience, working across a wide range of operational, transition management and client facing roles.

Madeleine Senior was appointed to lead Northern Trustas development in the Nordic region when it opened a branch office in Stockholm, in September 2009. In 2011, the office extended its asset servicing offering to include asset management products and services for clients across the region. In her new role, she will report to Wilson Leech, CEO for Northern Trust in EMEA.
