Conning Announces Completion of Acquisition of Goodwin Capital Advisers, Inc.

HARTFORD, Conn.--([ ])--Conning, Inc., a leading global provider of asset management solutions, services and research to the insurance industry, today announced that further to its announcement on September 19, 2011, it has successfully completed the acquisition of Goodwin Capital Advisers, Inc. from The Phoenix Companies, Inc. (NYSE:PNX). The acquisition expands Conningas fixed income investment capabilities. In addition, Conning and Phoenix also signed a multiyear investment management agreement under which Conning will manage Phoenixas publicly traded fixed income general accounts insurance assets, which totaled approximately $8 billion as of September 30, 2011.
