NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 17, 2011) - Con Edison ranked 17th among Corporate Responsibility Magazine's "Best 100 Corporate Citizens" and second among all the utilities in the ranking, according to the magazine's 12th annual survey.

Corporate Responsibility Magazine's annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens list ([ http://2sustain.com/2011/03/cr-magazine%E2%80%99s-100-best-corporate-citizens-for-2011.html ]) is known as one of the world's top corporate responsibility rankings based on publicly-available information, and is recognized by PR Week as one of America's top three most-important business rankings.

Data for the rankings were gathered from 100-percent, publicly-available sources and computed by IW Financial, a Portland, Maine-based financial analysis firm serving the Environment-Social-Governance (ESG) investment community. Evaluation categories for the rankings included climate change abatement, corporate governance, employee relations, environmental impact, financial performance, human rights and philanthropy.
