UMB Announces 35 Percent Increase in Health Spending Accounts

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ UMB Healthcare Services ], a division of [ UMB Financial Corporation ] (NASDAQ: UMBF), announced today that it has achieved a 35 percent increase in the number of its health spending accounts. The company now services 1.8 million health spending accounts, including Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs).

Following the conclusion of the 2010 open enrollment period, UMB HSAs totaled 182,000, which represents a 40 percent increase in number of accounts. Also, the account balances for UMB HSAs surpassed $279 million a" representing a 46.8 percent increase from a year ago. The company attributes its growth to high-touch, individualized client service and adaptable, industry-leading product offerings.
