American Water Increases Quarterly Dividend

VOORHEES, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE:AWK) announced today that its Board of Directors increased its quarterly cash dividend payment by five percent from $0.21 to $0.22 per share.

The regular quarterly cash dividend is payable on September 1, 2010 to all shareholders of record as of August 18, 2010.
