DANVERS, Mass.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Danvers Bancorp, Inc. (the aCompanya) (NASDAQ: DNBK), the holding company for Danversbank, today announced that its Board of Directors has adopted a stock repurchase program to purchase up to five percent (5%) of the Companya™s outstanding common stock.

Repurchases under this program will be made in open market transactions, through block trades, and pursuant to any trading plan that may be adopted in accordance with Rule 10b5-1 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the aExchange Acta). This authority may be exercised from time to time and in such amounts as market conditions warrant and subject to regulatory considerations. The timing and actual number of shares repurchased will depend on a variety of factors including price, corporate and regulatory requirements, trading plans adopted by the Company, market conditions, and other corporate liquidity requirements and priorities. Open market purchases will be subject to the limitations set forth in Rule 10b-18 of the Exchange Act and other applicable legal requirements. The stock repurchase program may be suspended or terminated at any time without prior notice.
