


Viterra Inc.: Viterra's CEO Named Chief Executive of the Year by Canadian Business Magazine
CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2009) - Viterra Inc. (TSX:VT) (ASX:VTA) is pleased to announce that its President and CEO Mayo Schmidt has been named Chief Executive of the Year by Canadian Business Magazine. Candidates for the award are evaluated based on specific performance metrics including annualized shareholder return, annual growth rate and corporate net income.

In 2007 he spearheaded the successful acquisition of Agricore United by Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, creating Canada's largest agribusiness.
Mr. Schmidt was honoured on October 21st at the Canadian Business Leadership Forum in Toronto, Ontario.
