BOISE, ID--(Marketwire - October 20, 2009) - Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: [ AEHI ]): AEHI submitted a Comprehensive Plan amendment application in Payette County, Idaho for the development of a nuclear power generating facility on approximately 5,100 acres of land. This is a key step to developing an additional nuclear site in Idaho. Our Elmore County rezone application is still in process. During this period other Idaho communities and groups began to learn of the significant economic benefits an advanced nuclear plant brings to areas particularly rural communities. Some US communities have issued statements to the press inviting nuclear developers and several states have even offered tax incentives.

Don Gillispie, AEHI Chairman and CEO, said, "We believe President Obama's recent pro-nuclear remarks not only reflect the nations, but the world's view that nuclear power is the key to addressing Climate Change. His remarks align him with the world's other economic powers and the UN's consensus on how to address Climate Change. While renewable energy has almost universal support, many now realize it can only provide about one-third of the nation's electricity when fully deployed due to intermittent reliability. A clean, highly reliable, base load power source like nuclear is also needed to stabilize our electric grids, keep electricity costs low and replace carbon sources that are harming our environment."
