










George S. King, Jr. To Lead SCBT's Investment Division

COLUMBIA, S.C.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--SCBT (NASDAQ: SCBT) announced today that George S. King, Jr. has joined the Wealth Management Group as program manager for the Investment Services division.

Based in Columbia, King will leverage his background and experience in commercial and private banking, investment management, financial and retirement planning in serving the needs of SCBT's clients.

With over 20 years of experience in financial management, King has an impressive resume' of accomplishments during his career, including a 10-year stint as senior financial advisor for Smith Barney. Prior to joining Smith Barney, King held leadership roles with Bank of Columbia and Bank of America.
King will help set the vision for the future growth and expansion of a key segment of SCBT's non-interest income core businesses during a period of significant market volatility.
A native of Columbia, King earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and an MBA in Finance from the University of South Carolina.
He and his wife Beatrice have three children and reside in Columbia.
