The New York Mets are hiring the person who oversees the US Open tennis tournament, Lew Sherr, as their new president of business operations.
The New York Mets have appointed M. Scott Havens, formerly the president and CEO of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), as their new president of business operations. Havens, who will start his role on February 12, 2024, brings extensive experience from his time at USTA, where he oversaw significant growth in tennis participation and revenue. Prior to USTA, he held leadership positions at Time Inc. and Bloomberg, showcasing his diverse background in managing large organizations. In his new position with the Mets, Havens will report directly to owners Steve Cohen and Alex Cohen, focusing on enhancing the team's business operations and fan engagement.
