Britain is and will remain a core market for Santander , its executive chair Ana Botin said at the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos on Tuesday.
Ana Botin, the chair of Santander, expressed her affection for Britain and confirmed that the UK will continue to be a core market for the bank during her speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos. She highlighted Santander's commitment to the UK, noting that the bank has been in the country for 170 years and sees it as a key market despite Brexit-related uncertainties. Botin also mentioned that Santander is focusing on digital transformation and aims to increase its return on tangible equity to 15-17% by 2025, with plans to expand its customer base in the UK. She emphasized the importance of adapting to new technologies and customer expectations, indicating that Santander's strategy includes significant investments in digital banking to meet these goals.
