Longview extends city manager deliberations into next week
- After extensive questioning and more than two hours of deliberations Friday, Longview City Council failed to agree on a finalist to become its next city manager. Instead, it pushed deliberations
The City of Longview, Washington, is actively searching for a new city manager following the resignation of former City Manager Mary Jane Melink. The city has engaged Prothman, a recruitment firm, to assist in the process, which has already seen over 30 applications. The search is being overseen by a committee that includes Mayor Spencer Boudreau, Councilors Mike Wallin and Ruth Kendall, and HR Director Kevin Ricks. The committee is working to narrow down candidates for interviews, with the goal of having a new city manager in place by the end of June. The process includes public input sessions to gather community expectations for the new manager. Meanwhile, City Attorney Andrea Dayton is serving as the interim city manager.
