  • A federal judge ordered Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, to hand over documents and answer questions about their plans to trim federal agencies. US District Judge Tanya Chutkan said in her order on Wednesday that Musk and DOGE have to comply with the discovery request in three weeks.

Elon Musk has been ordered by a U.S. District Judge to provide records and answer questions under oath regarding his involvement with Dogecoin, following a lawsuit filed by Dogecoin investors. The investors allege that Musk, along with Tesla and SpaceX, engaged in a pyramid scheme to promote Dogecoin, which they claim is a valueless cryptocurrency. The judge's order requires Musk to respond to inquiries about his Dogecoin-related activities, including his social media posts and the creation of a "Doge" emoji. This legal action stems from Musk's significant influence on Dogecoin's market value through his public endorsements and tweets, which have historically led to sharp increases in the cryptocurrency's price. The lawsuit seeks to address whether Musk's actions constituted market manipulation.
