India's GST Collections Soar 9.1% To Rs 1.84 Lakh Crore In February 2025

This is a solid performance when compared to the same month in the previous year, when gross GST collections amounted to Rs 1.68 lakh crore and net collections stood at Rs 1.50 lakh crore.

In February 2025, India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections surged by 9.1% to reach Rs 1.84 lakh crore, marking a significant increase from the previous year. This growth reflects a robust economic recovery and improved compliance. The collections were driven by a 13.9% rise in domestic transactions and an 8.5% increase in imports. Notably, this is the fourth time GST revenue has crossed the Rs 1.7 lakh crore mark in the current fiscal year, indicating sustained economic momentum. The Finance Ministry highlighted that this performance underscores the effectiveness of GST in capturing economic activity and enhancing tax buoyancy.
