WestJet, Lufthansa Technik sign agreement for aircraft engine maintenance

  • Canadian carrier WestJet and Germany's Lufthansa Technik have signed a multi-billion dollar agreement for engine maintenance services, the companies said on Thursday.

WestJet and Lufthansa Technik have entered into a long-term agreement for aircraft engine maintenance, as announced on February 13, 2025. This deal will see Lufthansa Technik providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for WestJet's fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft engines, specifically the CFM56-7B engines. The agreement aims to enhance WestJet's operational reliability and efficiency by leveraging Lufthansa Technik's extensive expertise in engine maintenance. This partnership not only strengthens WestJet's maintenance capabilities but also underscores Lufthansa Technik's strategic expansion in the North American market.
