Vietnam has approved a $67 billion high-speed railway project connecting its capital, Hanoi, in the north, to Ho Chi Minh City in the south, aiming to enhance economic development and connectivity. The project, which will span approximately 1,545 kilometers, is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities from about 30 hours by regular train to just over 5 hours. The rail line will have 23 stations and is designed to operate at speeds up to 320 km/h (199 mph). This ambitious infrastructure project, part of Vietnam's broader plan to modernize its transportation network, will be developed in phases with the first phase expected to be completed by 2032. The funding for the project will come from a mix of government investment, foreign loans, and private sector contributions.
