V.C. Summer Nuclear Station Completes Mid-Cycle Outage -- JENKINSVILLE, S.C., April 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

JENKINSVILLE, S.C., April 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G), principal subsidiary of SCANA Corporation (NYSE: [ SCG ]), returned Unit 1 at V.C. Summer Nuclear Station to service on April 2. This completed the planned mid-cycle maintenance outage that began on March 22.

"I am extremely proud of our team for completing this outage safely and ahead of schedule," said Dan Gatlin , SCE&G vice president of nuclear operations. "One of our pump's back-up seals was not performing as desired. The shutdown has addressed that issue."

During the outage, SCE&G also completed other maintenance activities to support safe and reliable operations.
