The initial inhouse testing was done on water with a 2% salinity, 20 ml per liter, and using the WHEN algae systems to reduce the salinity. Sea water has 3% salinity (30 ml per liter). Agriculture water is .01-.02%. Drinking water is typically under .0055% salinity.
The results of the tests are provided here:
With Algae Species no. 1 the water salinity went down from 1.73% to 1.46% in the first two weeks, and then continued dropping to 1.2% by the end of the first month.
With Algae Species no. 2 the water salinity also went down from 1.73% to 1.46% in the first two weeks, but stayed the same thereafter.
With Algae Species no. 3 the water salinity went down from 2% to 1.59% in the first two weeks, and then continued dropping to 1.48% by the end of the first month.
According to market overview by the year 2030, "Analysts predict that available water supplies will satisfy only 60 percent of demand. We feel that finding natural ways to purify brackish water and seawater is a necessary humanitarian need."

Liran Kosman, CFO of World Health Energy, said: "Since the WHEN algae system is competitively priced, with our new exciting desalination results we feel this opens the door for WHEN to be able to offer Algae systems/Joint Ventures to the commercial desalination industry.
World Health Energy Holdings, Inc. recently acquired GNE-India, an algae technology company with the distribution and licensing rights to a unique and innovative technology, the GNE GB 3000 system, to grow algae quickly and efficiently for the production of biodiesel and commercial fish food protein. GNE-India owns and retains the territorial rights for distribution and sales of the proprietary technology to both India and Sri Lanka. The company has exclusive distribution and licensing rights to the GNE GB 3000 system in India and Croatia. Earlier this year, the GB 3000 system was used to grow a combination of local algae species, as well as Chlorella, targeting the product to the fish feed and biodiesel markets.
World Health Energy Holdings Inc. is focused on biofuels produced from algae, which boasts substantially higher yields in comparison to ethanol derived from corn, rapeseed, jathropa and palm oil. The company also works with visionary enterprises in the multi-billion dollar renewable energy arena producing progressive, broad-based solutions for better physical, nutritional and environmental health worldwide. In addition, the company is pursuing an ancillary use of algae -- the efficient production of high-protein fish feed for commercial fish farms.
