WASHINGTON--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Pepco Holdings, Inc., is pleased to announce the promotion of Kenneth J. Parker to senior vice president, government affairs and corporate citizenship, from vice president, public policy, effective Sept. 1. In his new role, Parker will be a member of the PHI Executive Leadership Team.

Through his leadership and building strategic relationships with elected officials, regulators and community leaders, Parker will advance PHIas critical business goals such as improving infrastructure and reliability as well as deepening the relationship with the communities we serve.
Parker is taking over the post from Beverly L. Perry, current PHI senior vice president, external affairs, who announced she will retire after 22 years with the company. While Parker will assume the role of policy lead for PHI, Perry will remain at PHI as special advisor to the CEO, where she will provide executive counsel, represent the company externally and provide transition guidance to Parker until her retirement in June 2013. Perry will remain a member of the Executive Leadership Team through her retirement date.

Parker joined Atlantic City Electric in 1986 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility, including director of government affairs for New Jersey; vice president, Atlantic Region; region president, Atlantic City Electric; and, most recently, PHI vice president, public policy, where he was responsible for developing PHIas position on issues and reconciling federal and state issues throughout PHIas service area. He is a 1990 graduate of Delaware State University, where he earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. He is a former local Board of Education elected official and state Board of Education Member. Parker is a graduate of both Leadership New Jersey and Leadership Greater Washington and serves on the Advisory Board of Governors of Fordas Theatre.
