eHealth Government Systems President Discusses Challenges, Opportunities in New World of Exchanges
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 26, 2012) - Sam Gibbs, president of eHealth Government Systems, a subsidiary of eHealth, Inc. (
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 calls for state governments to deploy online [ health insurance exchanges ] in 2014 or to opt-in to a Federal exchange. These exchanges are meant to make health insurance more accessible to consumers by allowing consumers to receive quotes, compare, and enroll in the individual and small business health insurance plans of their choice. While exchanges are set to roll out in 2014, states must make their health insurance exchange operational and ready for a federal certification process beforehand. Gibbs will discuss the different options states face as the deadline quickly approaches.
Over the course of the past 12 years, eHealth has pioneered online health insurance comparison and enrollment platforms that have helped insure over 2 million Americans nationwide. Through the company's eHealth Technology and eHealth Government Systems groups, eHealth has been a leading provider of exchange and e-commerce technology platforms for health insurance carriers, brokers, agents and state and federal governments.
