Syncora Capital Assurance Inc. Announces Change to Board of Directors -- NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --

NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Syncora Holdings Ltd. ("SHL" or the "Company") announced today, the untimely passing of Mr. James Gallagher, an independent director of the Board of Syncora Capital Assurance Inc. ("SCAI"), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. Mr. Gallagher passed away on Friday, September 23rd, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He was appointed to the SCAI Board in October, 2009 and served as SCAI's representative on SHL's Audit and Finance & Risk Oversight Committees. At a meeting on September 27th, 2011 the SHL Board noted with deep sadness Mr. Gallagher's passing but also acknowledged its gratitude for his valued service to both the Company and SCAI.  Mr. Robert Strong, independent director of the Board of SCAI, has replaced Mr. Gallagher as SCAI's representative on the SHL Audit Committee. Mr. Strong also serves as SCAI's representative on the SHL Finance & Risk Oversight Committee.
